Celebrating Ok Tedi’s 40th Anniversary

If you glance at a map of Papua New Guinea, you'll find Ok Tedi at the heart of our beautiful nation. For the last 40 years, this region has stood as the “lungs of the nation,” a lifeline supporting countless communities and driving economic growth across PNG. Without the strength of Ok Tedi, the nation simply wouldn’t thrive as it does today.

This week, Ok Tedi marked its milestone 40th anniversary with a celebration like no other, attended by a high-ranking government delegation and guests from across PNG. It was a powerful reminder of how much this mining ops means to us all! From its contributions to infrastructure and education to the many lives impacted by the jobs it provides, Ok Tedi has made a lasting difference for four decades—and counting!
